10,000 Steps a Day: Embrace the Challenge and Transform Your Health
Discover the benefits of walking 10,000 steps daily and gain the motivation to push your limits and reach your full potential.
Hi MBS Family,
This week, we introduce a new body challenge that might sound simple but requires determination and planning to complete. We’ll also reflect on our experiences with last week's cold plunge and what we learned from it. Get ready to be challenged!
Do not judge me by my success, judge me by how many times I fell down and got back up again.
Be resilient and overcome the challenges and obstacles placed in front of you. Only then will you truly be free and able to reach your full potential.
This Week’s Challenge: 10,000 Steps a Day
MBS: Mind | Body | Soul
Difficulty: 3
Duration: 1 Week
This week, our challenge is to walk 10,000 steps a day for a week. It's an easy-to-understand challenge, but the difficulty lies in spreading the steps throughout the day or doing them in batches, either in the morning or evening. However you choose to do it, the goal is to accumulate your steps from waking up to going to bed. Remember to plan your schedule ahead of time to make it easier to hit that target.
Why It Matters:
Here are the top 7 benefits of walking 10,000 steps a day:
Improves Cardiovascular Health: Regular walking enhances heart and lung function, reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases, and helps maintain healthy blood pressure levels.
Aids in Weight Management: Walking burns calories, making it easier to manage weight and support weight loss goals.
Boosts Mental Health: Walking helps release endorphins, reducing stress, anxiety, and depression. Walking in nature further elevates mood and improves cognitive function.
Strengthens Muscles and Bones: Walking regularly improves muscle tone, especially in the legs and core, and increases bone density, helping prevent osteoporosis.
Enhances Joint Health: As a low-impact exercise, walking lubricates the joints, improving mobility and reducing pain, especially for those with arthritis or joint issues.
Increases Longevity: Consistent walking can add years to your life by keeping the body active and reducing the risk of chronic diseases.
Supports Better Sleep and Energy Levels: Walking improves sleep quality, boosts overall energy, and helps maintain a healthy circadian rhythm.
Learning from the Challenge: It’s Not Always a Sprint
What You’ll Gain:
Sometimes, we think the most intense exercise or fitness routine is the only option. This challenge teaches you that moving slowly over a longer period has significant benefits. It's easier on your body and provides a great workout without excessive strain. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned trainer, reaching 10,000 steps a day is a significant accomplishment that, over time, brings remarkable health benefits

Reflections on Last Week: Cold Plunge (2 min)
My Experience:
I loved this challenge! The energy boost from that cold water was almost addictive. I used the cold plunge as a way to kickstart my day. It elevated my mood and energy levels, but more importantly, it helped me overcome the natural instinct to say no to things I didn’t want to do. This gave me confidence in other areas of my day, pushing me not to give in. To grow, we need to push through our limits, and this is a fantastic challenge to start with.
